E-Verify Employer Agent

Payroll Plus now provides E-Verify services.
10/30/2013As an E-Verify Employer Agent, we are authorized and approved by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service to verify the workforce of employers in all 50 states. While the USCIS’ E-Verify program is free for employers, the time required to correctly enroll and use the program is not.  The time your staff will need to complete the tutorials and tests required to access the E-Verify system can be costly, especially for medium- to small-size businesses.  Also, by using Payroll Plus as your E-Verify Employer Agent you won’t have to worry about additional tutorials and tests every time the system is updated.

While any employer can use the E-verify system to make sure a new hire is authorized to work in the U.S., some states have individual laws, for example:

North Carolina – Employers with more than 24 employees are required to verify employment eligibility of new hires through the E-Verify system.  The definition of an employee does not include an individual whose term of employment is less than nine months in a calendar year.

South Carolina – ALL employers in South Carolina must register and participate in E-Verify. This applies to every employer who is required to complete and maintain employment verification forms under federal law.

Georgia – Private companies in Georgia with more than 10 employees are required to use E-Verify.
